  • October 17-21, 2000, Tokyo The World PC Expo
    This is the largest IT event in Asia, with 750 exhibitors, over 200 of which are non-Japanese companies. Nice international diversity in that number, too. expo@nikkeibp.co.jp
  • If your domain of your expertise has to do with domain names, consider attending the ICANN meetings in Yokohama from July 14 to 17. Open and free to all. www.icann.org/yokohama
  • JapanInYourPalm.com is a work in progress, but if you carry around a Palm and find yourself in Tokyo, Kyoto, or Hiroshima, it's worth a try.
  • Head's up: United is planning a new high-tech lounge for the Narita International Airport.

  • The Email 2000 expo will be held in Ikebukuro (a stop on Tokyo's Yamanote Line) from August 24-26. It focuses on email marketing and hosts a "mobile zone" where you can check out the latest wireless gadgets. Best to know Japanese for this one, however. See www.e-mail2000.org
  • Check out the latest DVD players, digital TV receivers, home theater systems, camcorders, digital cameras, PDAs, LCD projectors, CATV systems, and so on at the 38th Japan Electronics Show being held from October 3-7. hisae@a2.mbn.or.jp
