· The 38th Japan Electronics Show: Held from October 3-7. Hundreds of exhibitors from around the world show off all sorts of technologies and gadgets. See http://home.jesa.or.jp/english/.

· The World PC Expo: to be held in Tokyo from October 17-21, this is the largest IT event in Asia, with 750 exhibitors, over 200 of whom are foreign. Email expo@nikkeibp.co.jp.

· 38th Amusement Machine Show: Think arcade games, puri-kara (print club), video games, et cetera. The latest and greatest. Open to the public on September 23 at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center. See www.jamma.or.jp/english/am-e/gaiyo38.htm.

· Ceatec Japan: Showcases new technologies, products, and software for our networked world. Held at the Makuhari Messe (the Japan Convention Center) from October 3 to 7. See www.ceatec.com/english/english.html.

· Vendex Japan 2000: From November 14 to 17 at Tokyo Big Sight, this show introduces the latest vending machine technologies coming out of Japan. Free admission, over 350 booths. See www.jvma.or.jp/vendex_e.htm.
